Greater Forest Dragons
Greater Forest Dragons are a breed of dragon that varies in size, color, and appearance. Some will hibernate during the winter or during the harsh summer weather. They do travel, and can live in groups called Packs or Clans.
Basic Info
-They have two pairs of lungs. The second pair holds hydrogen.
-They have strong molars in the back of their jaws to crush platnium to allow them to breathe fire.
-They are omnivores, and will hunt nearly any animal. They will eat any plant and can determine if a plant is poisonous or not.
-They have a flap in the back of their throat, simular to that of a crocodile's or an alligator's. It is used to prevent backfires when breathing fire.
-They have a special bacteria in their stomachs that causes the acid to produce hydrogen, which collects in their second pair of lungs.
-They have to watch how much fire they breathe out because the hydrogen allows them to fly. If they run out while in the air, they will decrease in altitude rapidly.
-Their bones are hollow, like a bird's.
-The males are smaller than the females. The average height for a male is around 4 to 6 feet at the shoulder and the average length is 7 to 15 feet long. The average height of a female is around 5 to 8 feet tall at the shoulder and the average length is 8 to 18 feet long.
-The females have the brightest colors, which are displayed on their wings. Their colors can be anywhere on the color wheel (but no neons).
-Their basic colors are brown, tan, black, grey, white, green, and blue.
-They have long necks to enable them to reach high-growing vegitation.
-Unlike their smaller cousins, the Lesser Forest Dragons, they have extremely good eyesight and can see in the darkest nights.
-Their eye color can be anywhere on the color wheel (but no neons).
-Their pupils can be rounded or slit.
-Unlike some dragons, their scales do not overlap each other and are simular to that of an anole's/any other soft-scaled reptile.
-They have fur patches that are more like hair around their neck, legs, tail, head, back, chin, and wings. The males can grow manes around their necks, while both sexes can grow beards.
- They can shapeshift from a regular dragon (feral form) to a more humanoid dragon (humanoid form).
-Either sex can grow horns. The size and shape of the horns can vary.
-They usually have one heart, but two are not uncommon.
Lesser Forest Dragons
Lesser Forest Dragons are a smaller dragon that shares the basic anatomy of the Greater Forest Dragon, except that they are smaller and have limited eyesight. The females, however, do not display bright colors, and are the same size of the males. They are about the size of a human (at the shoulders) in their Feral Form and are slightly taller in their Humanoid Form.
